After the monumental success of Vampire Survivors, I wanted to see how quickly I could create something similar. I made the game below in a weekend.

First I wanted to create a foundation for shooting, aiming, movement, and enemy sprites.
In this gif, there are two enemy types: one with simple sprite animation, and another that moves and aims similar to the player.
I didn’t want to make just a one-to-one copy of Vampire Survivors, so I added a character equipment screen that allowed players to upgrade their gear before a run, similar to what you can experience in something akin to Risk of Rain 2.


Ultimately where I got to with this project, with two different enemy types, a special enemy, upgrading skills, progression, and a procedurally generating map.
